The Interactive Health Partner (IHP) is a comprehensive online health and fitness solution that empowers users to take control of their lives by raising their health and fitness IQ, increasing physical activity, and improving daily decisions that impact their health.
The Interactive Health Partner (IHP) was developed by the Medical Fitness Program group of PCE Health & Fitness, in partnership with leading medical fitness centers in the United States. The IHP was designed to give these centers a set of fitness tools to catalog their exercises, develop workout programs and let them prescribe customized workouts to their members via the internet. These Medical Fitness Centers required that the IHP also include goal setting for each member, monitoring of health metrics including weight, BMI, blood pressure, and cholesterol as well as member logging of exercise results and health metrics.
To meet the requirements of these Medical Fitness Centers the IHP was designed to include both an individual web portal for each member and a site that each center can customize and brand as their own.
The IHP was introduced to the Medical Fitness Industry in 2006 and has since grown significantly in functionality, usability and customer base.
Licensed IHP customers have grown from the Medical Fitness Industry to include Personal Trainers, Physicians, Retirement Communities, and Corporate Wellness Programs. We are proud to have customers that include organizations like the U.S. Forest Service, the Mayo Clinic, Brecon village, Power Wellness, Lakeview Village, and Galter LifeCenter, as well as many individual personal trainers and wellness coaches.
Rather than re-create the wheel where excellent resources already existed we partnered with the Gray Institute for access to their extensive exercise library, with the Center for Successful Aging for their Fitness Assessments, and with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) for medical history and risk identification in support of the Exercise is Medicine initiative.
Our data exchange protocol was published in the fall of 2009, enabling manufacturers to certify their products and equipment to work with the IHP. LifeSpan Fitness exercise equipment, Garmin sport watches, Gofit.net fitness accessories, and Infiniti Fitness (Australia) exercise equipment all integrate with the IHP. Other U.S. based equipment manufacturers are actively pursuing IHP certification as well.
